Ayuda Humanitaria: ayuda a la supervivencia y reconstrucción

La Ayuda Humanitaria de la Confederación es un instrumento de la política exterior suiza que se presta rápidamente en el mundo entero. Esta ayuda es la expresión concreta del sentimiento de solidaridad suizo con el resto del mundo. En caso de catástrofes, de crisis y de conflictos en el extranjero, la ayuda humanitaria apoya por una parte proyectos de otras organizaciones humanitarias en favor de las personas necesitadas y, por otra parte, ejecuta sus propios programas.

Conferencia sobre Afghanistan
Como resultado de la Conferencia se ha facilitar el retorno de los refugiados afganos a sus hogares. Afganistán, Paquistán e Irán tratan de alcanzar este objetivo conjuntamente con la Agencia de la ONU para los Refugiados – ACNUR. Suiza también ha garantizado su apoyo.

Alojamientos limpios y sanos para las familias palestinas refugiadas en el Líbano
Gracias a un proyecto piloto innovador, financiado por la COSUDE, las condiciones de vida de 38 familias en un campo de refugiados palestinos en el Líbano han mejorado enormemente. Ahora viven en alojamientos seguros, limpios y sanos. El proyecto está en proceso de ampliación para beneficiar a 736 familias.

PMA
Suiza elegida en el Consejo de administración del Programa Mundial de Alimentos
De 2013 a 2014, Suiza será miembro del Consejo de administración del Programa Mundial de Alimentos (PMA). La elección realizada por el Consejo Económico y Social de las Naciones Unidas tuvo lugar en abril de 2012. El PMA es una de las contrapartes más importantes de la COSUDE. Como miembro del Consejo de administración, Suiza puede contribuir con sus principios, intereses y valores al trabajo del PMA.

 The challenges facing humanitarian aid globally are demanding and complex. Good cooperation and coordination by all actors on behalf of afflicted people in crisis and disaster areas is becoming increasingly important. This is why Swiss Humanitarian Aid has chosen Sharing Responsibility as the motto for this year's annual conference.

Demining strategy
 The federal government has defined the strategy for its commitment to humanitarian demining for the period from 2012 to 2015. An annual amount of around 16 million Swiss francs is to be spent for projects and the secondment of experts in the fight against landmines, cluster bombs and other explosive remnants of war.

Food crisis in West Africa
Sahel: a humanitarian disaster can still be averted
 In the Sahel region of West Africa more than 10 million people are facing serious food shortages due to drought and the after-effects of the 2010 food crisis. Drawing from the experiences made in the Horn of Africa, Switzerland and other donors have reacted quickly in order to avert famine.

 «The Horn of Africa must remaina focus of Swiss aid»
 Thousands of people are still living in appalling conditions in the Horn of Africa – in squalid accommodation, without clean drinking water and without access to schooling. Manuel Bessler, the delegate of Swiss Humanitarian Aid, visited Somalia and Kenya in January 2012 to see the situation for himself. What he saw there confirmed him in his conviction that the Horn of Africa must remain a focus of Switzerland’s humanitarian aid.
